Biological Compound Microscope
Biological Microscopes are a type of compound or light microscope. They are available in binocular and trinocular configurations with brightfield and transmitted halogen or LED illumination. Biological microscopes are used by students for viewing plant cells or bacteria; medical schools for viewing blood or tissue slides and doctors for viewing pathology and cytology slides. For research studies, a more sophisticated higher end research microscope is required such as the fluorescence microscope.
Another type of biological compound microscope is the phase contrast microscope used for studying genetics, and viewing unstained cells such as the sperm for in vitro fertilization.
