The Jones Brothers Most Improved Compound Microscope was hand made by skilled craftsman William and Samuel Jones in the late circa1700's. The Most Improved Microscopes incorporated all the modern features for its time including a sub-stage condenser. The microscope stands tall at 20" tall and 10" wide at its tripod footed base. The intrinsic features of this all brass microscope is that it tilts, swivels and can be disassembled into its solid wooden mahogany case, (slight crack in door and does not fully close, can be repaired) surprisingly shrinking to approximately 14" and 7" wide. Inside the storage case are numerous compartments holding all of the accessories; including handmade wooden & ivory slides with glass mounting over various insects, glass test tube, extra lenses, specimen holders, glass filters, etc. This masterpiece is 100% original including all the accessories described. The microscope is fully operational and yields a clear image. This Jones Brothers Most Improved Microscope is a piece of art to be proudly displayed in a fine home or office.
