John Browning was an English inventor/manufacturer in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Originally specializing in nautical instruments he transformed the the business to scientific instruments. This original John Browning Microscope is signed on the front barrel and has beautiful fish scale designs throughout the stage/platform and base. The microscope tilts, and the monocular tube swivels. This John Browning Microscope is in excellent condition considering circa 1850.The patina enhances the natural beauty of this all brass hand made microscope. Stands about 16½ tall and 6" at the widest points of the triangular shaped base. Comes with Mahagony wooden case and extra brass objectives in their original cases. This is an important microscope from the England in the 1800's.
