This is a nineteenth century full sized solid lacquered brass drum microscope with burled mahogany wooden carry case. Inside padded with valor in excellent condition. The microscope is unsigned, as most were. This microscope focuses by rack and pinion, although a few teeth of the rack are slightly damaged. Brass mirror at base. All 100% original parts and accessories.
Inside are an assortment of objectives, hand made ivory slides of a variety of insects and specimens along with four glass viewing attachments, not sure what they are?...two attachable pieces that insert on the stage, one is a magnifier and the other appears to be sharp arrow like, perhaps to hold a bug or insect.... There is a hidden storage compartment with chain pulley. Self locking by pushing down and cut out for what appears to for a key.

The microscope measures approx.10" H x 2 1/2 " W (3" with attachments)
