This all brass Andrew Ross Microscope dates back to circa 1850's is an important compound microscope from the London Instrument maker representing change and evolution of design from this era.

The solid robust stand and stage illustrates significant advances for its time what was required and reflected in the improved resolution of achromat and spherical objectives. Additionally exemplifying its commitment to experimentation and evolution of improvement of design. This microscope is considered a masterpiece and stands 22 1/2" tall by 7 1/2" at the "Y" shaped base. A. Ross London 647 is engraved in the rear of the base. Similar microscopes found in prestigious museums.
